އަކީރާ ޓަޓެއިޝީއަކީ، ޖަޕާނުގެ ޑައިވަރުން އެންމެ ފުރަތަމަ ރާއްޖެއަށް ތަޢާރުފްކޮށްދެއްވައި، އަދި ޖަޕާނުގެ ޑައިވަރުން ރާއްޖެއަށް ފޮނުއްވުމަށް އެންމެ ބޮޑަށް ބާރުއަޅައި މަސައްކަތް ކުރައްވަމުން ގެންދަވާ ބޭފުޅެކެވެ. މީނާ ރާއްޖެ ތަޢާރުފު ކުރެއްވުމުގެ މަސައްކަތް ފަށްޓަވާފައިވަނީ، މީގެ ތިރީހަކަށް އަހަރު ކުރިންނެވެ. ޓަޓެއިޝީއަކީ ޖަޕާނުގައ ނެރޭ އެންމެ މަޝްހޫރު ޑައިވިންގ މެގަޒިން ކަމަށްވާ [މެރިން ޑައިވިންގ މެގަޒިން]ގެ ފައުންޑަރެވެ. މި މެގަޒިންގައި، ރާއްޖެއާބެހޭ ތަފާތު ލިޔުންތަކާއި، ފޮޓޯތައް ކޮންމެ މަހަކުވެސް ޝާއިޢުކުރަމުން ގެންދެއެވެ. އަދި ދޭތެރެ ދޭތެރެއިން ރާއްޖެއަށް ޚާއްޞަކޮށްގެން އެ މަޖައްލާ ނެރެމުން ގެންދެއެވެ. 

 

 

Mr. Akira Tateishi was the pioneer of Japanese diving market to Maldives' tourism. He had worked tirelessly over the years to bring diving enthusiasts from Japan to the Maldives. He began pomoting the Maldives as a diving destination for Japanese holidaymakers almost 30 years ago.

He is the founder of "Marine Diving Magazine", which is the most popular diving publication in Japan. Every month, he published a variety of articles and photographs on the Maldives in the magazine. Occassionally, he had also released special editions of the magazine, which were devoted exclusively to the Maldives. 

He is also the owner and founder of the "Marine Diving and Beach Resort Fair", which is the largest annual diving fair in Japan. The Maldives participates in the fair.

Mr.Tateishi has compiled numerous articles on the Maldives. He has also released a catalogue of striking photographs on the country's underwater beauty. In 2001, he published a book, titled "Maldives 1978-2001." 

Over the years, Mr. Tateishi has made over 80 trips to the Maldives.
