President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd of Australia, along with Prime Minister Zenawi of Ethiopia and Prime Minister Thomas of Grenada.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Rudd congratulated President Nasheed for the successful intervention that he made with some delegates in the plenary to continue in the talks.

President Nasheed stressed the need for an agreement in Copenhagen and said that small low-lying island states were most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

In Copenhagen, the small island countries are working hard to get language back into the negotiating text which will eventually get us down to 350 parts per million of CO2 in the atmosphere by the end of the century.
