President Mohamed Nasheed has said that developmental endeavors undertaken by people of Guraidhoo set an example for other islands. The President made the remarks while addressing the people of Guraidhoo this evening. The President also noted the important contributions of the people of Guraidhoo to the fisheries industry and the active role played by the island women.

Drawing attention to the government’s plans to construct the Guraidhoo harbour which is set to commence this year, President Nasheed reasserted the government’s initiative to address the need for developmental projects for the island.
 
Addressing the people of Guraidhoo, President Nasheed expressed deep happiness on the satisfactory results achieved by Guraidhoo School students. The President further highlighted on the government’s plan to renovate and upgrade Guraidhoo School.
 
During his visit to Guraidhooo, the President met with the Island Council and members of the Health Corporation.
