Following a briefing by Education Minister Sifa Mohamed, Members of the Cabinet have today deliberated on a framework for the National Curriculum.

Since the beginning of the National Curriculum Framework developmental process in 2009, the views of a large number of stakeholders across the nation have been taken into account in developing the National Curriculum. The recommendations of international research and educational theory on curriculum design and delivery have been taken into consideration as well.

At today’s meeting, the Cabinet also underscored that the government had reviewed the National Curriculum, inclusive of teachings by Islamic countries and other countries advanced in educational development. In addition, the developmental process for the National Curriculum Framework has been subjected to opinions of local and foreign experts.
