President Mohamed Nasheed has this evening, inaugurated the government’s skills development programme “Hunaru” in Dhiddhoo of Haa Alifu atoll. The first course to be conducted in Dhidhdhoo, under “Hunaru” is an Electrician Course.
Speaking to the participants of the course, the President highlighted on the elevated unemployment rate of Maldivian youth today, noting that the government’s goal was to provide them with the skills and training required for in the job market.
President Nasheed also said that “Hunaru” programme would be conducted in all the regions of the country, and that as a result it would contribute to the development of the islands.
In his speech, the President advised all the participants of the Electricians Course in Dhiddhoo to be diligent during their training period, and to be regular in attendance.
