President Mohamed Nasheed last evening visited a solo exhibition by Maldivian Artist Abdulla Nashaath titled “Nashaath - Skill and Realism through Pencil”

The mentioned exhibition was opened on 28 July 2011 at the National Art Gallery and showcases a portrait of President Mohamed Nasheed. Following a tour of the Exhibition, the President congratulated Abdulla Nashaath, and expressed gratitude for his contributions to Maldivian Art.

At the solo exhibition Abdulla Nashaath is currently exhibiting 95 Artworks (Portrait) Drawings using pencil as a medium. He made use of a pencil to create the portraits which include local and international icons as celebrities.

Artist Abdulla Nashaath cited that ‘paving the way and expressing his thoughts’ is important to strengthen the norms and fundamentals of the infant stages of democracy in Maldives.
