As part of his ongoing visit to Italy, Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed has met with the Mayor of Milan, Latizia Moratti.
Speaking at the meeting the Mayor of Milan applauded Maldivian government efforts in consolidating democracy.
Noting the premium quality of healthcare available in Italy, the Vice President and the Mayor of Milan discussed ways of increasing cooperation between both countries to strengthen the Maldives health services.
They also exchanged views on ways of further promoting the Maldives as a tourism destination in Italy, especially Milan, through collaboration with Milan Chamber of Commerce.
