As part of the tour to some islands of the Baa Atoll, President Mohamed Nasheed today visited Hithaadhoo and met with the people of the island. Upon arrival, the President was given a very warm welcome by the people of Hithaadhoo.
Addressing the people of the island, President Nasheed detailed the achievements of the government in delivering the government’s pledges, as well as specific benefits of these achievements for the people of Hithaadhoo. He also outlined the government’s development plans for the island.
Stressing the importance of employment opportunities in the islands for island development, President Nasheed said a major objective of this year’s budget was to create more jobs.
During this visit, President Nasheed also enquired about the general well being of the people of the island.
