Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed has attended a special ceremony, as the guest of honour, to bid farewell to the retiring officers of the Maldives National Defence Force, last evening.
At the function held at MNDF Kalhuthuhkalaa Koshi, certificates of appreciation from the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Minister of Defence and National Security were presented to the retirees. They were also presented the medals and colours earned during their time of military service. Chief of Defence Force, Major General Moosa Ali Jaleel presented the certificates, and medals and colours to the retirees.
Wife of the Vice President Ms Ilham Hussain presented certificates to the families of the retirees in appreciation of their services to the retirees during their tenure in the military.
