Government has decided to develop the coastline of Laamu atoll Gan to introduce mid-market tourism and to promote small and medium enterprises in Gan.
The project comes under phase one of the Tourism Development Plan of South Central Province.
The government made this decision after considering a paper on the matter submitter by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture will provide details of the project at a later date.
At today’s meeting, the Cabinet also decided to establish a procurement office to enhance national procurement process and supply-chains.
The new Procurement Office will handle maintenance and stationary work of all government offices, beginning from 1 March.
