The President met with the HA. Thakandhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members. The meeting was held at the HA. Education Centre on Saturday night.

Council members emphasized the need to expedite the water and sanitation project and stressed the significance of a community center for the Island. They sought assistance from the Administration regarding waste management issues, and requested the construction of a waste management center on their island.

Additionally, they highlighted the challenges they faced due to the budget limitations, and expressed the aspiration to incorporate an uninhabited island into the jurisdiction of the Thakandhoo Council, aiming to enhance the economic prospects of the island.

Speaking at the meeting, the President assured the Council members that he would address the concerns raised by the Council Members, after consulting with relevant ministries. Cabinet Ministers also provided updates on the Administration's ongoing efforts to address the issues.
