President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the Fuvahmulah City Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) today at the Fuvahmulah City Council Secretariat. They held extensive discussions about the most pressing issues and development needs for the city.

During the meeting, the Council members emphasised the importance of moving forward with the second phase of road construction, which began today, and finishing the remaining roads simultaneously. The members of the Council also conveyed their urgency for the proposed 400 housing units in Fuvahmulah City to begin construction as soon as feasible. They further highlighted the need for high-quality services to start at the current hospital, the space shortage issue at the harbour, the expansion of the airport runway, increasing the capacity of powerhouses, the early completion of the fish storage system, and the building of a new hospital. At the meeting, the WDC members also expressed concerns.

Speaking at the meeting, the President assured the modernisation of all roads in Fuvahmulah City as previously pledged. He added that the Administration would carefully attend to the power crisis and other concerns.

President Dr Muizzu inaugurated the second phase of the Fuvalmulah City Road Development Project prior to meeting the members of the City Council.
