President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Friday afternoon, left for Gaafaru Island in the Kaafu Atoll to join official celebrations held there to mark the 41st National Fishermen's Day. Vice President Faisal Naseem would join him on Gaafaru Island for the activities.

During the visit, President Solih would inaugurate the newly developed ice plant on the island, tour the Fisheries Expo organised by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture, and attend the official event held to mark the 41st National Fishermen's Day. Accompanying him at these events, the Vice President would also unveil a monument built on the island.

The President and Vice President would also visit the police post on the island and hold discussions with the members of the Gaafaru Island Council and Women’s Development Committee. The President would conclude his visit to Gaafaru Island on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
