Preparations are being made to give President Mohamed Nasheed a warm welcome on his arrival in Malé, after concluding his successful visit to New York to participate in the 64th session of United Nations General Assembly, UN Climate Change Summit, and the High-Level Climate Change Summit of the Alliance of Small Island States, and congratulate him on his inclusion in TIME magazine’s Heroes of the Environment 2009 list.

The President is scheduled to arrive at Malé International Airport at 7.30pm, tomorrow. Members of the Cabinet and the senior officials of the government will greet the President at the Airport.

The President will hold a press conference at Malé International Airport which will be broadcast live on Television Maldives and Voice of Maldives.

Public is also preparing to greet the President at the official jetty, on his arrival in Malé.

The opposition will also have the opportunity near the official jetty, to peacefully protest and voice their opinion in the spirit of democratic principles.
