President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with organisers of “Please” campaign. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office. The organisers of the campaign include youth volunteers from different fields.
At the meeting, the organisers informed the President on the programmes and events planned under the “Please” campaign.
President noted that the “Please” campaign was a noble cause and encouraged the organisers to continue their work.
The key objectives of the “Please” campaign is to increase awareness amongst the general public regarding the lack of services for people with disabilities; raise funds for the Care Development Centre; and to encourage citizens to get involved in the issue concerning people with disabilities.
Programmes planned under the “Please” campaign include a Read-a-thon project for primary school children and their parents, documentaries about children with disabilities and a music festival scheduled to begin on 1st October.
