The cabinet, in its meeting today, discussed on ways in which the education fund can be managed in a more responsible manner.
The Fund currently is under the Ministry of Education.
The members noted that the main objectives of the Fund had not been fully achieved. The fund was opened to provide educational opportunities not available in the Maldives and to assist higher education opportunities for Maldivians.
After discussing on how to continue the fund in a sustained manner, the cabinet decided to form a cabinet committee to review the Fund.
