President Mohamed Nasheed has proposed the names of Mr Mohamed Ibrahim and Mr Hassan Shah, to the People’s Majlis, for the membership of Elections Commissions for the second time. The President also proposed the name of Mr Hussain Siraj, to the People’s Majlis, for the membership of Elections Commission.
People’s Majlis, at its sixteenth sitting, approved the names of Mr Ibrahim Waheed and Mr Fuad Thaufeeq proposed by the President for the Elections Commission.
In his letter to the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Mr Abdulla Shahid, the President stated that all three nominees have discharged their duties in the transitional Elections Commission impartially and responsibly.
