The staff of the President’s Office have held an informal function to congratulate President Nasheed on having received the Anna Lindh Prize 2009.
Speaking at the function, the President stated his appreciation for all the staff of the President’s Office. He further noted the work being carried out at the President’s Office regarding climate change and human rights.
Noting that Climate change adaptation and mitigation projects are quite costly, the President pointed out that it was our responsibility to raise awareness on the issue.
President Nasheed also spoke on the impacs of climate change in the Maldives.
