Vice President Faisal Naseem met on Tuesday with the council members of Nolhivaranfaru Island in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll. The meeting was held at the President's Office.

During the meeting, the council members acknowledged the current administration's efforts in initiating and progressing various development projects. They highlighted the successful completion of the water and sewerage project, along with the near completion of the construction of 100 housing units aimed at addressing the pressing housing requirements of the island.

The council members also expressed their primary priorities and concerns regarding the ongoing development of the island. They emphasised the critical need to undertake projects to enhance road infrastructure, deepen the harbour channel, expand educational institutions, improve healthcare services, and construct sports facilities.

The council member also raised awareness of the challenge posed by the island's diverse population, consisting of migrants from three other islands, and shared concerns about the compensation framework of the council's administrative workforce, which currently comprises over 40 individuals.

During the discussion with the council members, the Vice President apprised them of the latest developments concerning the island's road development project. He also provided reassurance that the administration is committed to addressing the concerns raised during the meeting by prioritising the most urgent issues. The administration places a high priority on improving the quality of life for island residents and fostering comprehensive development across all sectors to uplift the islands.
