President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday morning departed on a three-day official visit to North and South Thiladunmathi atolls of the Maldives. The President will visit four islands in these atolls during the visit: Haa Dhaalu Naivaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Finey, Haa Alifu Utheemu and Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo.

The President will inaugurate infrastructure projects initiated by the government on these islands. Some of the projects include the installation of water and sewerage systems and the construction of new powerhouses. During the visit, President Solih will also meet with members of the island councils and Women’s Development Committees (WDC) of the four islands.

The President is accompanied by senior government officials and is due to return to Malé on Wednesday.
