Vice President Faisal Naseem on Saturday concluded his one-day visit to Kulhudhuffushi City and Nolhivaram Island in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll. In Kulhudhuffushi City, the Vice President attended the official function to mark International Youth Day 2022.

Speaking at the function, the Vice President highlighted the role youth could play on a global scale to overcome the socio-economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, threats to biodiversity, environmental degradation, and ocean acidification challenges. He also inaugurated a local arts and crafts exhibition to mark the occasion, which offered the opportunity to learn about the country's rich craftsmanship and history and witness the artisans' skills.

The Vice President also met with the council members and public officials of Kulhudhuffushi City and discussed the most pertinent concerns of the residents. During a visit to Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, he met with the senior management and staff and inquired about the services. He also met the senior management of the schools in the city and discussed ways to improve the education sector further.

On Nolhivaram Island, the Vice President met with the council members and public officials. Discussions at the meeting focused on the administration's developmental plans and ongoing initiatives, wherein he also inquired about the other pressing needs of the island's residents. He also visited the healthcare centre and the island's school and met with the senior management staff.
