President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday visited the picnic island development site on Kudagiri Island in the Kaafu Atoll and assessed the project’s progress. The picnic island is being developed for the residents of the Malé region.

Land reclamation for the project was carried out by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), while the rest of the facilities are being developed jointly by five state-owned enterprises under Corporate Social Responsibility.

The President was accompanied on the visit by Vice President Faisal Naseem and senior officials from the government and state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
