Minister of Education, Dr Aishath Ali, Chairman and CEO of Al-Jeri Holding Group, Mr Talal Khalifa Al-Jeri, Chairman, Managing Director of RCC Pvt Ltd, Officials from HDC, Government officials from the Ministries, distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
And very good morning to you all.
I have immense pleasure joining with Al-Jeri group here as we embark on this new project that will further our education sector. We are taking an important step in our quest to deliver quality and holistic education that promotes the learning experience of our students. Under the leadership and guidance of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, this administration has been steadfast in its commitment to enhancing cooperation in the educational and academic fields with our local and international partners.
The projects we are commencing today, the development of the Ajial Bilingual School, is a testament to this. I must extend my gratitude, and that of President Solih, to Mr Talal Al-Jeri and his team for becoming our partners in this initiative and taking interest in establishing a state-of-the-art private school in Hulhumalé.
I believe this comes at a very crucial time for our education sector, with the growing student population here in Hulhumalé. Our partnership with Al-Jeri Holding Group is integral to our plans to diversify the teaching environment and seek ways to address the ever-increasing demand for premier education services. The project will provide a choice for parents allowing them to enrol their children in private schools that offers modern and innovative solutions.
Distinguished guests,
I believe Ajial Bilingual School will cater to students from the Lower Kindergarten to the Twelfth grade, offering education in both English and Arabic. I understand that the first phase will commence with primary and foundation key stages in the coming year.
Promoting and facilitating Arabic and Islamic studies is a high-priority area for our administration. The development of additional schools to cater to the growing demand of students in Hulhumalé is also progressing. I am happy to note that we are currently in the process of building five schools in Hulhumalé, of which some schools are almost close to its completion.
When we speak today about the education of our children, we must ensure their right to live free from violence, exploitation, and all forms of abuse. It is our duty as policymakers, parents, guardians, and community members to ensure our children, the future of our nation, are safe and well looked after. We must take every step necessary to ensure that they are safe in their homes, schools, and everywhere.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Our utmost duty is to create a caring environment for our children that honours the same values of faith, respect, integrity, and unity we shared during our childhood. I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this administration will make every effort to protect our children from all forms of abuse.
Providing the best possible education to our children is the best way to protect them from harm. And I believe that Ajial Bilingual School, with its modern educational facilities, will be an excellent addition to our education system and contribute to the development of generations of children who will be the future leaders of this country.
I would again like to thank the founders and management of Al-Jeri Holding, and especially Mr Talal Khalifa Al-Jeri, for their partnership with us in promoting quality education and creating lifelong learners who possess the skills, confidence, and knowledge to meet the new challenges of their time.
Thank you very much.
