President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday dissolved the "Presidential Commission to Inquire into Child Rights Violations." As per the Presidential Decree No. 2/2022 issued today, the commission was dissolved following the conclusion of its mandated duties and responsibilities.

The commission was formulated on February 20, 2020, to safeguard and ensure the protection of the rights of children and to expedite systematic efforts of rectification. It was also mandated with identifying and analysing the root causes of all forms of violations against children, the current situation of victims and the accountability of state institutions in undertaking their responsibilities.
