President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the late Ibrahim Rauf, a recipient of the National Award for Public Service. President Solih visited the "Aa Sahara" cemetery to pay his respects and condolences to the bereaved family.

The late Ibrahim Rauf passed away early this morning while undergoing treatment at ADK Hospital. He was 59. He was awarded the National Award for Public Service on December 26, 2021, at the official reception held to commemorate National Unity Day.

The late Ibrahim Rauf served the state for over 38 years—he joined government service on September 12, 1982. He began his service at the Kaafu Atoll Office on August 13, 1984, serving as the secretary and assistant to the Atoll Chief. Later, he served as the Vice President of the Malé Atoll Council for two consecutive terms, and as President of the council for another term.
