President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that as we look back on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad Rasūl Allāh Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam (SAW) on the eve of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) Eid Milad ul-Nabi, we must each focus on our social responsibility to maintain the peace and harmony of our communities. In his written address publicised earlier tonight, President Solih conveyed his warmest greetings and salutations to all Maldivians, to the leaders of Islamic countries and to all muslims celebrating the blessed occasion across the world.

In his statement, President Solih called on all Maldivians to learn to apply the wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) teachings to address our lives and society today. He stated that Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) enlightenment allowed a prosperous civilisation to thrive through fortifying individual civil responsibility and accountability and nurturing close social relations. President Solih said that this is the ideal that all Muslim nations must strive for.

Continueing further, the President said that the greatest lesson to learn from the guidance of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is that the true measure of a nation's progress is the concord and solidarity evidenced by it's people. He stated that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had demonstrated that steps towards positive growth must always start with the self, further affirming that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had always reflected this principle in his own actions. In this vein, President Solih stated that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had actively demonstrated the virtuous tenets of not causing others harm, abstaining from hateful speech or damaging others property and letting go of resentful thoughts.
