The government has today rolled out the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology’s "gov.mv message" service to the public. The President’s Office states that the initiative was launched under President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s instructions and urges the public to use the new service.

The gov.mv messaging service enables the public to send letters to government offices. For the first time, this service enables tracking of letters in a standardised manner.

The announcement also detailed the procedures for government institutions to follow when responding to requests made through the new platform.

The announcement also nullified previous directives, number 63/1975 (14 October 1975), number 1991/59 (15 June 1991), number 1995/68 (7 October 1995), number 2001/77 (25 December 2001).
