President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has extended his sincere and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of late Ronald Outschoorn. Ronald Outschoorn, who served in the Maldives from 1962 till the 1990s, passed away on March 6, 2021. He was 82.

“Late Ronald Outschoorn will be fondly remembered by a generation of Maldivians, including me, whose lives he touched during his long and illustrious service at Majeediyya School,” said the President in his message to the family of Ronald Outschoorn.

Ronald Outschoorn’s career in the Maldives saw him serving as a teacher and in the administrative department in Majeediyya School. He later served in the non-formal Education Centre of the Ministry of Education.

The President noted that he would be remembered for his energetic and invaluable contributions to the school community. President Solih further described the deceased as: “an iconic character loved and admired by his colleagues and students alike.”

On Monday, the late Ronald Outschoorn was laid to rest at the Borella Cemetary, Colombo, Sri Lanka.  His wife and four children survive him.
