The Committee Investigating Public Housing Schemes has publicised the latest updates on the awarding of flats. The Committee shared the details of its investigation into the awarding of flats under “Hiya Public Housing Schemes” during a press conference held this evening.

At the press conference, committee members Uz Thoha Mohamed, Uz Ali Suhail Mohamed and Liusha Hassan provided detailed information on the progress of the investigation. Committee member Uz Thoha Mohamed stated that the category for civil servants remains the only category for which the Committee has not publicised the temporary list of eligible flat applicants. He added that they are verifying the details of the applicants and working to release the temporary list for the civil servants' category before the end of this month. The member stated that all lists publicised by the Committee Investigating Public Housing Schemes have had the criteria and details of point allocation revealed, consistent with this Goverment's commitment to keeping awarding processes transparent.

Other members of the Committee also shared details of their operational standards and strategic alignments which allow for complete impartiality and fair allocation of points for all applicants. The Committee, on 7 December 2020, had published the evaluation criteria for the physical verification process of assessing the living conditions of flat applicants.

The members of the Committee also answered questions posed by the media prior to concluding the press conference.
