President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent a congratulatory message to Seychelles' new President-elect Wavel Ramkalaman, following his victory in the country's general elections.
The President's message reads as follows.
I congratulate you on your election as the new President of the Republic of Seychelles, and the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) for its victory in the country’s parliamentary elections. As a Small Island State in the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles and the Maldives share many common concerns and priorities, especially in the spheres of maritime safety, disaster resilience and climate change.
Our two countries have continued to constructively engage on these issues and voice them to the broader international community. I am certain that the excellent level of cooperation between our two governments will continue under your leadership.
As you prepare to begin your presidential term, I wish Your Excellency and the good people of Seychelles happiness, good fortune and prosperity."
