President Mohamed Nasheed today attended ‘Social Crisis’, an art performance by Afzal Shaafiu Hasan, a renowned local artist.
Hasan’s performance raises the issue of disintegration of social fabric, increase in hatred and divisions among people, and dying out of respect for different opinions as a result of extreme political rivalry in the country.
The art performance also underscores importance of peaceful and healthy political competitiveness and respect for opinions and sentiments. It aims to urge politicians to encourage people to be united and respect differences existing in the society.
After viewing Hasan’s performance held at Jumhooree Maidhan this afternoon, the President visited some fishing vassals at Malé northern harbour.
