Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed attended the prize giving ceremony of Centre for Higher Secondary Education, which was held Monday evening at Dharubaaruge.
Addressing the students, Vice President urged them to base their decisions on their education and to think wisely. He said they should be able to create new paths for the future.
“Your future is in your hands,” he added.
Continuing his speech, Dr Waheed noted that CHSE has made remarkable progress over the years and that many of its alumni now hold high offices. Dr Waheed also congratulated all the prize winners at last evening’s function.
Out of the 826 CHSE students who sat for the Advanced Level Exam, 76 percent of students are eligible to enter universities, while 49 per cent students got C and above passes in all subjects they sat for.
Four students got the first place in the national top ten rankings, while one student got full marks in accounting. The best-all-round student was Mohamed Hassaan Ahmed.
Prizes for those students were presented by Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed. Madam Ilham Hussain and Education Minster Dr Musthafa Luthfee also presented prizes to students.
