Addressing the people of Hulhu-Meedhoo of Addu City, President Dr Mohamed Waheed has said that his administration would ensure equal and just treatment of all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.

Speaking in this regard, the President said his aim was to restore harmony among the people and build a safe and progressive future for all citizens.

“This requires the cooperation of everyone”, said the President.
 

The President further reiterated that he would uphold the Constitution and respect the rule of law. He also stressed that his government would not interfere with the Judiciary.

Speaking on the recent changes that occurred in the country, President Waheed reassured that his administration would also ensure the uninterrupted provision of state allowances such allowances for the elderly people and single parents. He also added that important ongoing projects beneficial for the people would continue.

During his visit to Hulhu-Meedhoo, the President visited the health centre. He also inspected the Hulhu-Meedhoo Court that was torched during the demonstrations of 8 February.

As part of his tour to Addu city, the President also visited Feydhoo and inspected the Feydhoo Court area, which was also torched.
