Noting that 45% of the Maldivian workforce consisted of women, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has insisted that there be no discrimination between men and women in performing jobs, or in taking on different tasks.
The President made these remarks while speaking at a function held by the Progressive Party of Maldives.
As stated in this year’s Presidential Address, a special committee has announced the roadmap for the national campaign to be carried out to promote Islamic unity and history, and boost religious and national spirit, especially among students and youth.
During the call, the President welcomed the State Minister to the Maldives and conveyed good wishes to the Prime Minister, H.E. Narendra Modi, the Government and the friendly people of India.
The meeting took place at Ahmadiyya School this evening.
The ceremony was held today at the Ensis factory in Hulhumalé.
President Yameen presented the letter of appointment to the new Ambassador, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning.
